I am currently building the new Timothy website around the style of the movie.

They have a temporary weebly site at the moment and they have written a rather flattering bio about me in their 'talent' section.

T-shirt Press

My T-shirt Press arrived today, so I thought I would purchase a polo shirt and have a go. It was good exercise to do and I think for my first ever t-shirt pressing it went extremely well. I will be doing more t-shirt pressing from now on... Watch this space...

I ordered my business cards from moo.com today.
I have seen their printing before and was impressed, after carefully consideration I decided to use the recycle card stock they offer which looks very nice.

Malvern Spring Gardening Show - Secret Garden Party 2009

This is a piece of work I created for Malvern Three Counties Showground.
The aim of the piece was for gardening VIP's like the royal horticultural society members and gardening celebrates like Alan Titchmarsh and Joe Swift to be invited to a special one night only event for the Spring Gardening Show before all the crowds pile in and they get bombarded by press and fans.
The event was a success and it has given me the opportunity to work the the showgrounds marketing staff more often.

Burton Photography Logo.

This logo incorporates two main aspects from a camera lense, which have been negotiated into the 'O.'

The first is the shutter which is in blue and shown half closed symbolising a camera taking a photo. The second represents the alignment bearings used to align the lense of a professional SLR to the camera body.

This logo is clean cut and has a limit colour pallet as the photographer prefers more commercial photography like studio and landscape, and the logo needed to be suited to his style.

Book Art. Part 2.

Another afternoon of book binding and I have created a stab bound or Japanese bound book.

This Format is a very simple way of binding single pages into a neat book. It works most effectively in a landscape aspect and can be soft back or hard back. The book binders thread is visible on this style of book, but i feel it adds to the feel and character of the book.
This book format would make beautiful portfolios or photo albums, the hand-made look and feel really boost the class of this book.

It is understated and beautiful!

The Finished result of the 'Digg's Gardening' van...

The idea behind the design is: clean, tidy and organised, nobody would want a messy garden and that needed to reflect into the design of the van. I used the lines of the van to align the typography and the logo, which helped link the shape and functionality of the van with my design.

Yes, you read it right...
I am in the paper.
As you would expect its nothing amazing, its only a mention.
It is an article from "Worcester News" September 11th 2010.
The article is a list of students completing their HE qualification from Worcester College Of Technology (College Of Art & Design, Worcester)
As you can see I was one of two who completed my course, which sadly was in its final year.
So here is proof I completed my HND....

Logo Design and Vehicle Signage...

Digg's Gardening - Company Identity. This logo is designed to the brief submitted by the client, it incorporates a spade made from the letter 'D' which is dug into the ground which links the logo device with the company name 'Digg's Gardens.' The spade handle has 'grown' into a tree. This represents the companies clients gardens which with 'Digg's help they will grow..

Here is a picture of the rear of the van which I signed up today. The Ford Transit gave me a large canvas which allowed me to give the logo a comfortable amount of space while maintaining a big enough size for it to be legible from a distance... 'Digg's Gardening' logo has been adapted to fit the rear doors, the device is now above the typography allowing the wording to be larger.

The art of book making has really grabbed my imagination!

After just one tutorial on book binding I am intrigued.
The book I made (left) is known as a pamphlet book. This style of book could be used in many ways to fill so many briefs, whether it is direct mail, advertising or info graphics etc.

I will be developing my ideas for the use of this book style.

I Love Paper...

This piece is designed to make the user interact and hopefully understand my love for paper. To do this it comes in a traditional scroll which is held tight with a hand-made paper ribbon and tag.

When the viewer pulls open the bow the scroll will unveil four pieces of beautiful paper, one of which has my guide to make a origami heart printed on it.

Once the user has completed this task, there is another piece of paper with my desired font perforated into it. The user will have to push out the letters, align them and mount them on the poster in whatever fashion that they wish, this will hopefully give the viewer a sense of achievement and understanding of my love.
